Currently we are in-network with most Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans, Cigna, Health Choice, United Healthcare, and Healthcare Highways. The best way to know for sure if Dr. Gray is in-network with your plan is to call them. We also ask that you send us a copy of the front and back of your insurance card several days ahead of your appointment so that we can verify your benefits. You can send us a copy of your card as a message attachment on our secure patient portal or by fax at 405-337-9538. If we are not able to verify your benefits before your appointment, we will require payment in full at time of appointment.
Yes! Payment in full will be due at time of service, but we will provide you with an itemized superbill that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
The easiest way to schedule an appointment is online. Once you have created an account at our secure patient portal, you will be able to book appointments at your convenience. If you would prefer, you can call us at 405-633-2496.
Prospective new patients can submit a request for consultation here. Through the patient portal we will send you our intake forms which will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. This will allow us to spend more time addressing your concerns during your appointment. We will also send you our patient policies and HIPAA privacy policy to review and sign. We require all new patients to have a credit card on file in the patient portal for any fees that may come up such as session fees, copays, or missed appointment fees. If you are using insurance, you will also want to send us a copy of your insurance card as far in advance as possible so that our billing specialist can verify your insurance benefits and give you accurate information on copay and deductible. When we have all of your intake forms complete, your credit card on file, and a copy of your insurance card we will schedule a new patient appointment, typically in just a few weeks.
At your appointment time Dr. Gray will call you back and you can expect to spend about 60 minutes reviewing your intake form and discussing the concerns you are hoping we can help with. Towards the end of the appointment, Dr. Gray will review your diagnosis and treatment options and you will discuss what a mutually agreeable treatment option might look like going forward. You and Dr. Gray will work together as collaborative partners to help you achieve your treatment goals.
Rescheduling an appointment is easy to do online at our secure patient portal. You can also call us at 405-633-2496. We ask that you give us 48 business hours before your appointment if you will need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations after 48 business hours prior to the appointment but before the appointment time will result in a $100 late cancel fee. Patients who do not call prior to missing their appointment will be charged a $150 no-call no-show fee. Please note that your card on file will be charged for this fee unless you call with an alternative method of payment.
Yes, Dr. Gray does provide weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy to a small number of patients. Additionally, brief supportive psychotherapy is provided during most medication management visits. However, most of our patients have a separate psychotherapist that they see on a weekly basis as part of their treatment plan. We are co-located with an amazing group of therapists at New Leaf Counseling which is a great place to start looking if you don't already have a therapist. We typically ask you to sign a release of information with your therapist so that we can share information to advance your treatment goals, but of course that is your choice.
We do not have a lab onsite. However, labs are usually necessary at the first visit and sometimes on an ongoing basis especially for certain medications (such as lithium or valproic acid). If this is needed, we will give you a lab slip that you can take to the lab of your choice (DLO, Quest, LabCorp, etc.) and the results will be faxed back to us. Most of the time we will discuss your lab results at your next visit unless an unexpected result needs immediate attention.
Here in Oklahoma, most of us don't get enough vitamin D which can negatively impact your mood. A 5,000 IU daily supplement of vitamin D3 is sufficient for most people, however depending on your level it may make sense to take a prescription strength supplement. For your convenience you are able to purchase supplements through our online store: https://modernmindcare.metagenics.com/d3-5000
There is also great evidence for omega-3 fatty acids improving many mood disorders as well as cardiovascular health. If you are eating fish three times a week, this may not be necessary. Otherwise we often suggest 1-2g daily of an EPA+DHA combination supplement. If you are feeling overwhelmed by options, consider this brand: https://www.nordicnaturals.com/consumers/ultimate-omega
Depending on your symptoms, we may check B12 levels to see if vitamin B12 deficiency could be contributing to your mood symptoms.
We are hoping to offer supplements in our office soon for convenience.
Most patients will return after their initial diagnostic evaluation to follow-up on their treatment plan. Patients are typically seen at least monthly until they are stabilized on medication. At that point visits can be spaced further apart or patients can be referred back to their primary care doctor.
